Two Miami-Dade County Court judges and three lawyers are still in the hunt to replace retired Chief Circuit Judge Joel Brown.
County Court Judges Wendell Graham in the civil division and D.J. Cannava in domestic violence survived grillings Tuesday by the Miami-Dade Judicial Nominating Commission.
The three others on the shortlist headed to Governor Rick Scott are Miami-Dade Assistant County Attorney Jason Bloch, Assistant Federal Public Defender Ayana Harris in Miami and Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Luck, also in Miami.
Bloch was a finalist in October to replace Judge Joseph Farina and in November to replace either Judge Ellen Leesfield or Judge Victoria Platzer.
Scott has 60 days to make the appointment.
