If you’re looking for some movers and shakers Saturday morning, they’ll be jumping off the roof of the B Ocean Fort Lauderdale hotel.
Attorneys Jeffrey Fauer of Tripp Scott, Joel Shulman of Greenspoon Marder and Sam Goren of Goren, Cherof, Doody & Ezrol plan to make the big leap.
Developer J.R. Bergeron, Dennis Giordano of surveying firm Calvin, Giordano & Associates and Dr. Richard Callari of Broward General Medical Center also are committed to rappelling off the 14-story building as a fundraiser for Gilda’s Club, the cancer support group named for the late comedian Gilda Radner.
Shulman, who serves on the Gilda’s Club South Florida board, said he has never rappelled but decided to take the plunge for a good cause.
“Instead of a walk and run, it’s something unique and different,” said Shulman, an associate. “I never did it before, but I figured I’d be an adventurer.”
He conceded he had some butterflies after glancing at the top of the hotel Friday. “I didn’t realize it was quite that high,” he laughed.
About 60 participants agreed to donate or raise a minimum of $1,000 for the fundraiser, and they hope to break the $100,000 mark.
