Assistant Public Defender Olga Levine will run for a seat now held by Broward County Court Judge Leonard Feiner.
Feiner is among a handful of judges recognized by the insurance industry for reducing plaintiff attorney fee claims from personal injury protection lawyers. PIP attorney fees are an issue that generated controversy in the spring legislative session.
Feiner has not said whether he will seek another term.
Levine ran for circuit court last year but failed to unseat Circuit Judge Jack Luzzo. She serves in the public defender’s mental health division and chairs the Broward County Juvenile Detention Center Advisory Board.
