The Miami-Dade Judicial Nominating Commission will have 18 candidates to pick from when it sends a list of nominees to Gov. Rick Scott.
The governor must fill the judicial spot left empty by the death in January of Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Maynard “Skip” Gross.
A third of the group is made up of county judges hoping to be elevated, including Victoria Brennan, Rosa Figarola, Andrew Hague, Norma Lindsey, Lisa Walsh and Deborah White-Labora.
General Magistrate Margaret A. Rosenbaum also has applied.
All others are attorneys: Scott Burr, Miguel de la O, Fredrick Freedman, John Goran, Mary C. Gomez, Michael Hanzman, Richard Hersch, Fleur Lobree, Alan Mishael, Alan Sackrin and Leonardo Spitale Jr.
