Attorney Stuart Rosenfeldt, former equity partner of imprisoned lawyer Scott Rothstein, is used to dealing with snakes.
But his passion is turtles.
The former Rothstein Rosenfeldt Adler partner was spotted Saturday at Underground Reptiles in Deerfield Beach, where he was just another reptile geek. He talked to the staff about selling his turtles.
Bankruptcy attorneys for RRA say Rosenfeldt went hog wild on the firm’s credit card, compiling $1 million in purchases. He bought cars and jewelry, but he also bought exotic turtles, often spending $1,200 to $1,500 a shot at places like Underground Reptiles.
At a July 2 deposition with bankruptcy attorneys, Rosenfeldt said he still had five turtles and spent about $20,000 on reptiles.
He is expected to be charged in Rothstein’s $1.2 billion fraud, according to sources.
Rosenfeldt said he had no idea if or when he would charged. He maintains he knew nothing about Rothstein’s Ponzi scheme operated out of the RRA firm using fake court orders.
Despite everything going on, Rosenfeldt was clearly in his element at Underground Reptiles.
"So you’re a reptile guy, too?" he asked the DBR reporter.
You call this news? This is pathetic.
