Miami Beach’s Palace restaurant has agreed to make up with a neighboring business that has complained about its boisterous drag shows.
The luxury Tides South Beach hotel has complained since mid-November about The Palace’s shows on Saturday nights and during Sunday brunches. It says the performances, which have been staged for nearly two years, are too noisy for its guests and run too long.
This week the Tides and the Palace reached a compromise. The Palace will limit its shows to 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Sundays. Shows will run no later than 10 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays.
Palace management also agreed to keep drag show customers that gather on sidewalks away from Tides restaurant patrons.
Executives of the hotel and restaurant are to continue to talk over other problems and will appear before the city planning board in two months.
